Unfortunately Mistakes happen, spills occur and no matter how hard you try to stop them, they will always happen from time to time. If you find yourself in this situation it is very important you follow some basic steps, once the spill has occurred do the following:

1. Use paper towel to soak up excessive liquid, apply pressure to the paper towel to soak up liquid that has soaked deeper into the carpet fibres.

2. Use warm water and a white cloth to try and lift the stain out of the carpet, wipe from the outside of the stain into the centre to stop potential spreading.

3. If this has not removed the stain it is time to call a qualified professional to finish the job

Under no circumstances should over the counter stain removers be used, these often contain chemicals that can damage your carpet and make the stain much harder to get out,  or even worse, make it permanent !
